Roleplaying Sample: (OOC// This is in her second year) I was practically running to charms, because Marlene thought it would be funny for me to be late to class, so she unplugged (yea I know magic school and all, but I like it the muggle way) my alarm clock. While in my hurry, I bumped into a couple of Slytherins and my bag split open and all my books fell out. The Slytherins were about to hex me for getting in their way, but before they could someone hexed them from behind. Like the cowards they are, they ran away, but not before giving me a glare that said “this isn’t over”. I turned to look at who hexed them and I saw the eyes of Remus Lupin staring back at me.
We just stared for awhile, but then he snapped out of it and came to help me carry my books. I was about to tell him it was fine, but the look he gave me, like he knew what I was gonna ask, stopped me. We haven’t said a word to each other the entire time, and haven’t looked each other in the eye. When we were done, I was about to mumble “thank you”, but I looked into those beautiful chocolate brown eyes again and knew I was hooked.
Why do you want to be this character?: I knew she was special when I found out she was killed by Voldemort himself. Not many people got killed by him until the Battle of Hogwarts and even then not as many. I always imagined life and now I’m going to create it in role-play

Um… can I change her house to Gryffindor? Please? It’s just that in my head, her and Lily were best friends and they were both Gryffindors. Not that I don’t like Hufflepuffs, it’s just that she was always a Gryffindor in my head
I ship her with Sirius, which is also another reason I want her to be in Gryffindor
I walked down the corridors of Hogwarts happy to be starting another year here. Lily was off somewhere studying. Which is bloody crazy! It’s the first day of school for Merlins sake! But she insisted she has to study for NEWT’s, so after a little fight I let her go, being the awesome friend I am.
When I was close to the Gryffindor (OOC/ in these two paragraphs I made her a Gryffindor) common room, something came in my way. That something was Sirius Black. I was about to tell him to get out of my way before I hexed him, but he already opened his big mouth. All I heard was …james…prank… slytherins. But before he could finish talking I walked around him and into the common room, told James (OOC/ James is also one of Marlenes best friends because I pictured him and Marlenes parents being best friends and living next to eachother, which makes it hard for Lily to visit Marlene during the summer) he had a git of a friend, and walked into the girls dorm and went to sleep. My last thought being “what a great way the start the year”.
Since I first read her name in Order of the Phoenix I loved her. I guess it’s because I already loved Sirius and always pictured them together, but since then I imagined an entire world for the Marauders era and Marlene was definitely a major character. I don’t know why I didn’t role-play her before this, but please give me the part of her

Is there anything you would like to change or add to your character? Nope! I love her character arc.
Which characters do you ship your own with? James Potter. I think she’s always had a bit of a thing for him, and finds him to be funny (sometimes), but she can’t get past the fact that he bullied her best friend and thinks himself better than other people.
RP Sample:
Lily groans and rubs her aching temples slowly, glaring at the tiny text in front of her. How the bloody hell is she supposed to remember all of these names? While she personally thought History of Magic fascinating, even if taught by the most dreadfully boring person (er, ghost), and it is of the utmost importance that she earn as many NEWTs as possible, all of the bloody goblin names sound the same. Honestly, Ragnok the Pigeon-Toed and Ragnuk the First? How is one person supposed to keep them all straight? A resounding bang is followed by raucous laughter, and Lily winces. Her throbbing head droops dejectedy, and she presses her skin against the cool pages of her textbook. An accusatory green eye searches for the culprits, and, surprise, surprise, she finds Potter and Black have managed to overturn a table in front of the portrait hole.
Why do you want to be this character? I want to be Lily because she is such a strong person and knows who she is. She’s constantly put down by others for being Muggleborn or having been friends with Severus, but she is her own person in spite of that. She holds everyone to their potential to be the best person they can and doesn’t accept anything less, because she can see the best in everyone and hates it when they sell themselves short. I think she’s a really inspiring person and I’d love to bring her to life. I’m also fascinated by her relationship with James, because she’s from a rather rundown, poor industrial town and he’s incredibly wealthy, and they also have the blood status difference and very different personalities, but they still fell in love, and I think it would be fun to explore how that came to be.

Is there anything you would like to change/add to your character?: I’m going to try to keep his characterization as canon as possible.
Which characters do you ship with your own?: James has a really pathetic crush on Lily Evans and makes all kinds of lame plays at her, but since that doesn’t ever work out, he’s open to dating other people (namely anyone).
Roleplaying Sample (two paragraphs, in character please): James takes his role as quidditch captain as seriously as he can, but it’s hard to do that when none of the other teams are anywhere near as good as his Gryffindors. One of the perks of always winning matches is being able to gloat about it and insult the other players off-field, but the draw back is that a lot of hexes and jinxes are thrown at him on a daily basis, including some nasty ones that have sent him to the hospital three times already.
Every time he gets an injury, Peter insists on carrying all of his books and things. He’s very insistent and for some reason, James never attempts to thwart the blonde. He’s almost glad someone keeps pace with him through the castle. Sirius and Lupin always pass him by without a smidge of consideration for his “sad put-on.” At times, it’s as though Peter is the only decent friend James has!
Why do you want to be this character?: I really want to write James as we know him and as we don’t know him, demonstrating the events that deflate his ego a little and turn him into a much better person overall. There had to be some event that caused him to outgrow the cruelty and arrogance of his childhood.
